# Surface Editorial Candidate Runbook

## Purpose

Create independent, physically shootable editorial candidates for the eight surface presentations selected for the landing-page surface grid. These are mood and staging concepts, not exact evidence of microscopic surface texture. Do not connect candidates to HTML, CSS, or JavaScript until the user selects them.

The landing taxonomy intentionally communicates visual variety rather than the full sample-test matrix. It does not explain brass-versus-silver equivalence or expose internal S2, TN1, and TN2 treatment codes. The first seven categories are tactile finishing expressions; the eighth adds ordinary yellow-gold plating as a color outcome.

## Shared requirements

- Read the repository `AGENTS.md` and the installed `imagegen` skill before generation.
- Inspect the assigned local reference image with `view_image`, then pass that same file to `image_gen` as the sole reference. Treat it as a product-shape and finish reference, not as an edit target or background.
- Keep the same distinctive wavy ring form and the assigned finish/color. Show exactly one ring and no other jewelry.
- Create a real editorial photograph that could be reproduced with an ordinary camera, a real set, props, wardrobe, and lighting. No levitation, surreal architecture, impossible reflections, fantasy effects, CGI-like presentation, or composited visual tricks.
- Never show a face, including blurred, cropped partial, reflected, or background faces. Hands, wrists, forearms, and cropped clothing are allowed. No eyewear visible anywhere.
- Avoid raw catalog imagery, macro photography, and oversized product framing. The ring should normally occupy roughly 15–30% of the frame, with meaningful context and negative space.
- Avoid making the entire image uniformly dark. Even darker concepts need readable midtones, material separation, and a deliberate light source.
- Make candidates genuinely varied in camera height, distance, action, props, wardrobe, negative-space placement, and lighting. Do not merely swap background colors.
- Gender impression may be masculine, feminine, or neutral. Do not force continuity between candidates or between aspect ratios.
- Produce exactly four independent 16:9 candidates and four independent 9:16 candidates. Portrait and landscape images do not need matching actors, sets, props, or compositions.
- Do not put typography, logos, watermarks, borders, contact sheets, or multiple panels inside any candidate.
- Save final lossless PNG files only in the assigned finish folder. Preserve each successful generation and retry only the failed candidate.

## Output names

- `landscape-c01.png` through `landscape-c04.png`
- `portrait-c01.png` through `portrait-c04.png`

## Generation and QA protocol

1. Before generating, write eight distinct scene prompts internally: four landscape and four portrait.
2. Start with a rolling pool of four active `image_gen` calls. When one settles, launch the next queued call while remaining within the manager-assigned concurrency limit. Never exceed four active calls inside one session.
3. Use one `image_gen` call per candidate and keep its prompt, run, and destination distinct.
4. Copy each successful generated PNG from its generated-image location into the exact assigned output filename.
5. Inspect every final image with `view_image`. Check: one ring only, no face, no eyewear, no extra jewelry, correct wavy form and finish family, non-macro framing, physically shootable scene, requested orientation, and no text/logo/watermark.
6. Verify all eight files with `identify` and report their dimensions. Replace any failed candidate rather than accepting a requirement violation.
7. Do not modify files outside the assigned output folder.

## Finish assignments

### 01 — 해머링 / HAMMERED

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-hammered.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/01-hammered/`
- Starting vocabulary: wood, clay, rough stone, folded work cloth, raking side light, crafted irregularity, contemporary artisan context.
- Keep the setting maintained and intentional; do not imply a dirty, obsolete, or rundown workshop.

### 02 — 스지 / HAIRLINE

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-hairline.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/02-hairline/`
- Starting vocabulary: architectural lines, blinds, tailored fabric, brushed metal objects that are not jewelry, directional daylight, measured rhythm.
- Suggest linear precision through the whole scene without fabricating an extreme texture close-up.

### 03 — 유광 / HIGH POLISH

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-polished.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/03-high-polish/`
- Starting vocabulary: window light, polished stone, clean glass, precise highlights, crisp controlled reflections, confident contemporary wardrobe.
- Preserve bright silver and mirror-like energy without turning every scene into a sterile luxury catalog shot.

### 04 — 반광(세라믹광) / SEMI-GLOSS CERAMIC FINISH

- Adopted reference family: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-white-plated.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/04-semi-gloss-ceramic/`
- Starting vocabulary: white ceramic, gray-white textile, pale concrete, cool clean daylight, airy modern interior, quiet clarity.
- The inherited staged candidates are classified by their soft ceramic context and controlled middle sheen. If regenerated, request a restrained semi-gloss silver response rather than bright plating or mirror polish.

### 05 — 무광(절삭광) / MATTE CUT FINISH

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-matte.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/05-matte-cut/`
- Starting vocabulary: linen, uncoated paper, pale mineral surfaces, diffused daylight, quiet tactile restraint, soft utilitarian wardrobe.
- Preserve subdued silver and low-glare calm; avoid hazy flatness with no focal hierarchy.

### 06 — 유화 / OXIDIZED

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-oxidized.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/06-oxidized/`
- Starting vocabulary: maintained leather, dark wood, charcoal textile, cool daylight cuts, deep patina, restrained contrast.
- Retain readable silver-black separation and midtones; avoid a uniformly black frame or gothic fantasy styling.

### 07 — 광처리한 유화 / POLISHED OXIDIZED

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-polished-oxidized.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/07-polished-oxidized/`
- Starting vocabulary: bright and dark material pairing, crossed highlights, pale stone against charcoal cloth, graphic but real shadow boundaries.
- Express the polished-high-point and dark-recess contrast through lighting and adjacent materials while keeping the scene natural and physically constructible.

### 08 — 옐로우골드 도금 / YELLOW-GOLD PLATED

- Reference: `prototype/assets/knowledge/surface-mockups/source/ring-yellow-gold.png`
- Output: `prototype/assets/experiments/landing/hero-layout-lab/surface-editorials/08-yellow-gold/`
- Starting vocabulary: warm neutral stone, ochre or camel textile, walnut, cream ceramic, balanced daylight, familiar rich yellow-gold color.
- Keep the gold color conventional and neutral rather than rose, copper, orange, greenish, or heavily saturated. Avoid bridal clichés and ornate luxury styling.
